women pregnance2Women who suffer from headaches during pregnancy face the greatest risk for stroke and attacked by a variety of vascular diseases, said an American scientist who believes associations underlying a case-control study.

Findings, published in the BMJ, an international general medical journal published this week, shows that pregnant women who suffer from migraines to 15 times more likely than other women to suffer a stroke, two times greater risk of heart attacks and three times more likely face to experience blood clots and other cardiovascular diseases during pregnancy.
“Take care of necessary birth. Women with severe migraine during pregnancy should be constantly aware of all the risk they face, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, history of blood clots, heart disease and stroke,” said lead researcher In the study, Dr. Cheryl Bushnell, a neurologist at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

“Apparently there is a relationship between headaches and pre eclampsia, pregnancy complications, one of the most common and most dangerous,” says Bushnell.

Bushnell and colleagues analyzed data from 33,956 pregnant women diagnosed with migraine.

According to the study, the headache comes on as many as 26% of the women who are pregnant. Women of 35 years and older more likely to suffer migraines during pregnancy.

Women aged 40 years and over 2.4 times more likely to be attacked by migraine compared with women under the age of 20 years and white women more likely for the next headache against women from ethnic race or whatever .

“Migraine, particularly in connection with an aura or visual changes during headache, previously associated with strokes and heart attacks in women,” Bushnell said. “This study is further validation of the relationship between the two.”

“No matter what the cause,” says Bushnell. “Active migraine during pregnancy should be seen as a sign of possible heart disease.
